Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas. I had a beautiful Christmas Eve and Christmas. We have this tradition where Brian and I open our gifts plus the ones from our family across the states on Christmas Eve and then we open gifts at my mom's  house on Christmas. This way, we get to act like crazy, excited, pajama-jumping, little kids at home and then we act like the calm, collected, polished adults we really are when around other people.

Brian cracks me up! He shook and tried to guess every present the night before Christmas Eve. This holiday season my heart yearned for the family and friends I don't get to see everyday but thanks to technology, we were able to FaceTime our family in Michigan.

I am so grateful for this time. This moment in life when all differences are set aside and the gratitude of living is infectious. During the holiday season, we are humans first, people second. Our aims begin with love and the art of giving is selfless.

No matter what religion you are or whether you celebrate the holidays or not, this is a time for reflection. This is a moment of pause to think of those who lived before us, those who are living now and those who will come after us.

We are thankful, grateful, alive and living.

We are one.

Then Again...

Maybe it is the end of the world when tragedies like this happen.
It's the end of a lot of people's worlds today and our hearts are heavy.

12/21/12

There is no way this world will end.
My children haven't been born yet.
We haven't celebrated our thirtieth anniversary
I haven't been to Paris or Italy yet.
The love and hope I see in my family
And friends hasn't completely diminished.
Brian's goddaughter is just a baby
And we will watch her, her brothers and cousins grow and learn and live.
My new niece or nephew is still baking in my sister's belly.
My other nieces and nephew have grown into
And are becoming world-changing, intelligent beings.
Some of my dreams have yet to come true
And brew inside me with an unstoppable impatience.
We've just begun to Live

In Lieu Of @ On The Rox

Thanks to Nose Wiggle Productions (Please "Like" if you dig the images) we were able to get a few photos from our show this past Saturday, December 1 at On The Rox in Hollywood. You can view the entire album here:

The show was awesome! It's probably our last one for 2012 since the holidays are coming and everyone will be taking their vacation. You can also view and "Like" our music page here: In Lieu Of Facebook. When I'm on stage, I feel like a bolt of lightning has entered my body. I am where I should be and able to express myself artistically through our music and songs.

Here are a couple of photos we took from that night. Don't know why my lips look like I got collagen injections but they have a mind of their own. I'm thinking it's slightly smeared from singing with the microphone. Enjoy!!
