We are officially settling into our new home. There are still items we have to get from the old place but we've spent three nights in the new one. Right now my life is unpacking, putting away, organizing and adjusting. It's been rough and I am exhausted. I am sort of in a funk today and I think it's because I want to let go of the old place already but I can't until we get every last item out plus clean it. Then the cathartic breath will be released and I can say goodbye to the past six years of my life.
Since I am crabby today, much like a baby who hasn't had a nap, I will instead focus on five things that I am grateful for at this moment.
1) Our new home
2) Two and 1/2 bathrooms - Makes my life sooo much easier!
3) Finally over my cold and feeling almost 100%
4) Looking forward to setting up the studio again so we can finish the album now that my voice is back.
5) Falling asleep on the couch and having Brian wake me up to walk me up the stairs to put me to bed. It's kind of a ritual:)
I cannot wait to be completely unpacked! I know it will take some time. I am forcing myself to donate some of my stuff that I don't really use or wear. Letting go is tough but it is also very liberating. I also want to start an acoustic blog series where I perform one of my songs. Once I get settled, I will add this to my blog to-do list.

We are moving!
Not to another planet.
Not to another country.
Not to another state.
But to a different house.
We are both fighting our colds but I'm almost healed. Zinc has now invaded our daily vitamin regimen thanks to my friend Rachel's advice. It always makes me feel queasy but I'm taking it with food and desperate for my throat to heal.
So...although I've abandoned Pinterest due to the fact that I'd rather live my dreams then see then pinned to imaginary boards, I decided that since we'll be broke for awhile once we move in, I can put my creative juices at work with DIY projects. So my pinning has begun again but only for projects that will manifest in real life.
Check me out here - http://pinterest.com/shaharoh/. I'd love to follow you and find out if anyone has any DIY projects for the home, closet or bathroom.
I'm sooo excited! I'm over the moon. The place we've stayed in for the last six years was a great home to live in. Now the owner is building upon the backyard. Once there were two people living on this property, then four and now it will be eight. Not the ideal situation for newlyweds. Plus, the construction going on hasn't been good for our health. We haven't been sleeping soundly and the constant sound of hammering and drilling takes a toll on one's soul after awhile.
In a couple of weeks, we'll be moving out and moving on. Of course, I will miss this place. This is the place where I built a life with the guy I met at Cinespace who became my boyfriend and then became my husband. We got engaged, planned a wedding, lost jobs, got hired, wrote tons of music including this album that needs to get finished once my voice is back, had memorable birthday parties, beer-pong tournaments, traveled to Asia for the first time, family visits...the list goes on.
Now, I am looking forward to creating new memories in our new home. I need a fresh start and a new beginning. (And quiet mornings with no construction!)

Camping in Michigan
Brian and my Sil (sis-in-law) Cheryl
At Lelli's with Lindsey and Rob.
At the show with my brother Naje
Hi Fellow Aliens!
It's almost been one month since my last post. The lovely Introvert jolted me back. I've been waiting on pictures from our vacation, pictures from the show and so much has been going on.
First, our vacation in Michigan was so much fun! We went camping, parading, boating on the lake, ate yummy food, and spent time with family and friends. We were two busy people! There's always that moment during a vacation when you wish you had more days because you know time is running short. We got to eat at Lelli's which is our favorite Italian restaurant and it was beyond delicious. It was so tasty that I had to fulfill my yearly quota of beef. I don't eat red meat except about once or twice a year.
After we returned, we had another show this past Saturday at TRiP in Santa Monica. My brother, Naje and his lovely girlfriend Esther flew out from New York to watch the show. He's never seen me perform live and it was such an amazing moment to share with him. Last weekend was a family affair because my mom and Stan came as well. The show was awesome and so many friends came out to support us.
In between all of this, I've somewhat recovered from a throat infection. I caved in and took antibiotics and got better but now I feel blah. The weather has been blazing so we've had to sleep with the air conditioner on which I know is not the greatest thing for one's throat. I just haven't felt all the way healed and hopefully, this will all end soon because...
We are looking for a new place to live! It isn't set in stone but I pretty much think we will be moving shortly. We'll still live in the same town but in a new house. I've already looked at seven places in a manner of seven days and continue to search everyday. I feel like my life is at a crossroad and in limbo. We are both anxious to find something soon and get settled in. It's weird because two of my best friends are moving. One is in Texas and the other will be in Hawaii. Things never stay the same and we are all trying to build new lives in new places.
I hope to have so many more pictures to share from the trip and the show. I have missed you all and look forward to keeping you updated on how my home, health, music and well-being balance out.
