Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas. I had a beautiful Christmas Eve and Christmas. We have this tradition where Brian and I open our gifts plus the ones from our family across the states on Christmas Eve and then we open gifts at my mom's  house on Christmas. This way, we get to act like crazy, excited, pajama-jumping, little kids at home and then we act like the calm, collected, polished adults we really are when around other people.

Brian cracks me up! He shook and tried to guess every present the night before Christmas Eve. This holiday season my heart yearned for the family and friends I don't get to see everyday but thanks to technology, we were able to FaceTime our family in Michigan.

I am so grateful for this time. This moment in life when all differences are set aside and the gratitude of living is infectious. During the holiday season, we are humans first, people second. Our aims begin with love and the art of giving is selfless.

No matter what religion you are or whether you celebrate the holidays or not, this is a time for reflection. This is a moment of pause to think of those who lived before us, those who are living now and those who will come after us.

We are thankful, grateful, alive and living.

We are one.
